Hi Simon,
Rob is correct in his statement however in both Staes you also need to acquire you disconnect and reconnect electrical license.

I also obtained a Qld contractors license with a WA license.

Only this week i brought 5 electricians into Brisbane to assist...

I have not had any problem in any state transfering a WA license.
Have you asked them why they want the Electrotechnolgy 3 course completed when you have a full A Grade.

Originally Obtained WA A Grade Electrical license, but due to work requirements now hold
SA
QLD
NT
VIC
NSW
ACT
TAS
All of the above are achievable through mutual recognition.

Up until about 10 weeks ago, in Saturdays West Australian paper, there was at least 70-100 jobs for electricians. Last Saturdays paper advertised only 8 jobs for electricians. Including mine site's!

Once he get's the ARTC Cert he will be able to take the practical exam and the short theory exam. Phone Balga TAFE (North of river) ask for a practical exam date, also ask if there is any cancelation...

Similar in WA. During the last several months you generally get about 50-60 jobs advertised in Saturdays paper, however the last two weeks there has been about 16 each week for Electricians

In WA for your A grade exam you are given a grey box with flying lead connections and a set of leads all connections are marked up as if it was a contactor. You then have to connect up for the motor...

Arthur i was speaking to an instructor at Swan TAFE in WA who is travelling to the UK for assements then on to South Africa, he say's assessors are from various areas of Oz.

When you get to Perth get the Western Australian on Saturday there is loads of jobs advertised for the Perth and surrounding area's.

8 of us sat the exam in Perth 2 passed 1st time, 3 passed on resits. Last I heard other 3 were informed they had to do a 19 week electrical course.
It is ok if you have prepared for the exam but...
