Default Getting Dual trade in WA

Anyone done this? Was thinking of doing it as I did a fair bit of instrumentation in UK but have no formal qualification. Just want to know whats involved course wise and how much it's gonna cost (lots I bet).

Thanks

I've made some calls and I've been told thats not the case according to Challanger TAFE and the governing body. There is a route for sparks to up skill, expensive tho ($3000) and take a year. Having said that the pay rate seems to be around $100,000-$120,000 so could be worth it

True, but I'm hoping oil, gas and power generation are going to stay strong and go for them rather than mining (even tho all the guys from the mines will be doing the same)

I think it'll be worth the outlay, hopefully

Plenty of good paid job's around still. Company I mentioned about 8 weeks ago is paying A Grade sparks in Vic between $105K & $125k PA to carry out maintenance work in retail outlets. Home every night, on call 1 in 4. All tools supplied phone, uniform and Ute. All the sparks on here must be paid more as out of 43 Electricians only 1 person from the UK applied.

I would of loved that job, done the same work b4 in UK but unfotunatley i live in WA.

Trying to get an expression of interest or something off a firm before I splash $3000 out, but I wont hold my breath, most places don't even get in touch when you apply for their jobs
