Re: Prices in Spain..Cheaper a Myth ??

Whereas the UK new car market has become very competitive, the Spanish one seems to have stood still quite a bit.

Re: General cost of living - Living modestly

I would say minimum 1,500 euros a month to cover rent, electric, water, food and have something left over.

If you are serious about moving, look carefully at the area you are moving to and don't...

Re: Sky Minidish in Spain

As Loco said, you'll need a 2.4m dish to get what you get with Sky in the UK including BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5.

Even with a 2.4m dish you may have problems viewing a particular channel...

Re: Stomach Bugs and Stuff

I used to think dodgy meat or fish was the most likely to cause you problems but they say salads are one of the worst things to order when eating out.

Different people have different tolerances...

Re: New Yahoo Voice Chat

Skype has been bought by Ebay.

There are hundreds of voip services out there. Whilst Skype like others are charging for calls to landlines instead of PC to PC, I doubt they'll start charging for...

Re: Sky Cards?

A problem you face is the dish being communal and you might not get permission to put your own dish up on the roof.

You could talk with the other property owners and discuss upgrading the dish to...

Re: Satellite TV

The channels you'll actually get depend on the size of your dish.

Many places but not all are 2.4m dishes now to get the best signal and get all the channels pretty much all day.

You might find...

Your dvd, video etc will work fine. No expensive cables or adaptors needed.

Tvs... all the usual brands are here, maybe not the same choice you'd get in Currys , but look around. The big...

Scalibor is the best collar to get and you can get them from pet shops and chemists. I haven't seen any supermarket that sells them directly (around here anyway) although usually at the big...

Re: Is there a living to be made out of B&B in Spain?

Yes you can make a living is the answer, but that depends on how well you do your marketing and get the word out.

Things usually take time. If you tie up with local estate agents that will also...

I'd agree with jjh's post.

You shouldn't underestimate leishmaniasis as it is about, pretty much all over Spain and it does kill and is killing dogs.

There is no cure, and animals that aren't...

Re: Employment Agency

It is illegal (AFAIK) in the UK to charge fees to job seekers.

Gibraltar might have separate legislation that deals with this however usually employers not employees pay.

I reckon there must be a market (pun intended) for anyone selling something other than handbags, belts, shoes, bras and dodgy kids toys.

Anything that is of personal value then keep, anything else is just 'stuff' at the end of the day. Sell it or bin it?.....or pack it :o
