Are we talking about the same heaters (econoheat)? Because if yes, then I'm glad to hear you have found them useful (and economical to run). I'm thinking about installing them in the bedrooms, too. I particularly liked the idea that they are reasonably inobtrusive (they stand out from the wall a few inches, compared to other radiators). And, as you said, they can be painted to blend in with the background etc.

Hi Carol&John yes correct the same ones, i went for the larger sized ones if my memory is right around the 80 to 90 Euro mark, 5mins to install & away you go. We just leave them on & they keep the rooms nice & toasty not to hot just right

Well I am the last person to give advice on heating as our electric bill included a surcharge for using TOO MUCH electricity...
Yes folks, mere residential mortals getting surcharged by the Spanish Government for using too much luz.
Gas bottled fires are ok but not that cheap nowadays to run, and as Steve said...moisture moisture.... we have a log fire but most of the heat just goes somewhere else...not sure exactly where... and so we use the electric convector things, fan heaters and hot/cold air con.
They aren't all on all the time I must add.
The Aircon is a beast to run on hot so we're just going to wear extra socks from now on, buy some thermal undies from Lands End and not venture out of bed.

One solution to mobile/occasional heating popular on the continent is the Toyokuni Rolf turbo paraffin heater. These have a heat output similar to a mobile gas heater but without the heavy bottles. Due to the efficient combustion system they do not smell like the old paraffin heaters used to. The ROLF (reduced odour liquid fuel) fuel designed for these has no odour itself, unlike paraffin. I don't know what the cost of paraffin is in Spain, but I've been using one in the UK for some years now, and find it cheap to run.
Output is 3 kw, and a tank of fuel (about 1 gallon) lasts 15 hours on full heat.
