Can anyone please enlighten me as to what it costs for a SKY installation/subscription in Spain, and which UK channels it is possible to access?

Installation will be however much the "friendly" ex pat installer can squeeze out of you and the subs will be the same as everywhere else.

If I were you I would set up an account in the UK and NOT tell Sky you are going to Spain to watch or you will find that your sub's are withdrawn as you are not supposed to get Sky here in Spain..
It also depends on where you are in Spain as the "Footprint" from Astra1 and Astra2 vary a lot. so it also depends on what size dish you get no one gets BBC2 but most get ITV1,2,3,4, CH4 Ch5 Sky's Sports, Docs, Movies, depending on how much you pay Sky. BBC1,2,3,4 so you will have to check on where you are and how much some brit charges you.
these are some useful sites for yu to look at
Sat Dish site/fitting
This site is good as well
Size of dish you may need FOOTPRINTS
(The very best advice is to go for the Spanish system Cannel + (plus) it will help you to learn Spanish you can buy the pack from any big supermarke cheep and the setting up is easy).

Re: Satellite TV
The channels you'll actually get depend on the size of your dish.
Many places but not all are 2.4m dishes now to get the best signal and get all the channels pretty much all day.
You might find you lose , say, BBC2 and one or 2 other channels briefly in the evening but that will depend on where you are, dish size, etc.

Thanks for all the input. I'll wade through it and make a decision from that. I should now have all the information I need. Thanks again to all who have replied - especially countryboy.
