I used to live in Rozelle and loved it. Annandale is also very nice.

I also lived in Mosman but with the Spit Road, it's like living on the M1.

However, you pay a premium for these types of...

Re: Melbourne CBD After Work Drinks Friday 16th MAY

Don't speak to Al then as he's a United fan. I might be able to pop past and regale you all with stories of Wolves' glory day (singular). However, at this time I'm a maybe as I'm starting a new job...

Re: GMTV did anyone see it!!

It gave a very small and one-sided view of moving to Australia in my opinion.

It seemed to be aimed more at winding up people back in the UK rather than providing any real, pertinent information. ...

Re: What is the first thing you do?

It will take you a week to stop smiling alone.

Don't worry about any aspect of flying/landing, getting to a hotel or other form of accommodation. It will be like going on holiday to start with....

Re: Help ! 457 visa is around the corner return or single flight ?

I came out on an e457 last March on my own to Melbourne. I've not been back to the UK since. You will be fine with a single outbound ticket. Adelaide is a great place, totally under-rated. Good luck...

Re: Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares USA

It's one of the very few decent programs on TV over here. He did use the evil 'C' word. The French chef/owner fully deserved it though.

Last week's episode was also class when he got the 2 lazy...

Re: Barclays bank account - to keep or not?

Keep all your UK accounts/credit cards going even when you move over here.

They come in very useful for making payments for purchases for friends' presents etc. when you're here back off UK...

Re: pss shipping

Do a search on 'PSS' to get the feedback. Shipping has been discussed many times in various posts.

I used PSS and they sucked however, the general forum feedback was 95% positive so it was just...

Re: Anyone used or using PSS?

I chose PSS to ship my bike over here.

It took them 15 weeks to get it to my door from the UK. The bike got here without the customs clearance form that I e-mailed PSS.

Therefore, the company...

Re: Going for a reccie next month to Melbourne, any advice?

8 days isn't a great deal of time to take in all that Melbourne encompasses but the personal experience should help you reach a decision.

Generally, you're going to have to go a LONG way out of your way to find the sort of things that you list.
