Re: pensions -moved to main forum

Pensions have to be transferred to a scheme that is approved by HMRC or you'll pay tax in the UK.

Personally I'd avoid any of the "pension transfer advisers" becuase no middleman ever does...

Re: Best place to rent in Wellington

Hi,

I also arrived with two dogs booked on a flight four weeks later, which gave me that long to find a dog-friendly rental.

We didn't originally intend to live up on the coast, but I looked...

Re: Transferring Money to NZ

You could open a sterling foreign exchange account with Westpac (or whichever other NZ bank you're using) which would allow you to delay actually exchanging it to NZ dollars until the rate is more...

Re: New members - moving to Wellington

I'd recommend Kapiti - We originally planned to live closer, say Plimmerton/Whitby/Papakowhai but we got a rental place in Paraparaumu and like it up here so much that we're just going to put in an...

Re: Taking everything with you ?!

Seems like it's not banned, but you can expect to pay $200 or so for a MAF inspection (see http://www.maf.govt.nz/quarantine/plant-products/index.htm) so maybe OK for fancy 3 piece suite but not...
