Re: Solar Power

Hmm,
Clean Energy council reckons a 2 kW system in Brisbane will produce 8.4 kWh per day.

8.4 x 50 cents per kWh = $4.20 per day = $1533 per year, roughly

If you don't have it already, look...

Re: Solar Power

Up here in the NT we get back ~19 cents per kWh, which is what we pay for what we use.

Re: Shipping to Darwin....anyone headed that way?

Allied Pickfords have a branch here, so they should be able to do a reasonable price. They shipped my stuff here 4 years ago and were very good, although I wasn't paying..

Shipping from Adelaide...

Re: Solar Power

It depends on the size of the system and how much sunlight you get.

The Clean energy council website gives approximate figures for each capital city and the size of system.

For example, up here...

Re: move to townsville?!?!

I spent a few days in Townsville, back in the 90s, I was back there at the end of last year.
Townsville is hot, but then it's in the tropics, so that shouldn't be a surprise.
It has rednecks and...

Re: 6months here 6months oz - schooling

I would think it is almost impossible to do it in mainstream schools.

As an example, in the NT, the 6 week school holiday is in Dec/Jan but in UK it's Aug/Sep.

Then there's the curriculum, even...

Re: Darwin's turn for a bit of weather! Tropical Cyclone Carlos

Re: Darwin's turn for a bit of weather! Tropical Cyclone Carlos

It's been very quiet here in Palmerston, plenty of rain and wind last night but very calm today. We seem to be in the 'eye' of the system at the moment.

There's been a few trees down in the area,...
