Just remember that when you validate, the 12 month grace period for private health insurance starts! If you do not organise PH within 12 months, you will be hit for an additional levy depending on...

Not 100% sure but I believe that the law is that your employer must provide a payment summary (issued at the end of a tax year or when leaving) and not a payslip.

If you are just arriving, you may not be able to get a contract phone! The Vodafone prepay cap is a good alternative, $49 and you get $230 worth (it lasts a month!)
