We are going to start shipping our things to Australia (to my parents) and we are not shipping furniture etc. just personal effects so would probably only need to ship some boxes (I am not sure on what sizes or how much yet but we are trying not to be too sentimental)
Can anyone recommend (or not!) some companies please.
Not sure if you need to know this but we live in Yorkshire and it would be shipped to Sydney.
Thanks in advance

I first shipped a 40' container with PSS and they were brilliant. Recently, I sent some cartons and the service was just as good. They sent me the cartons (there are 3 sizes available), which I packed myself, they collected them, shipped and delivered. No problems and I thought their prices were very good.

Prices seem to vary quite considerably according to BE member for both a 20' and 40 foot containers. Can anyone explain whether the type of items affect the price, eg do glass objects, which will probably require greater care / wrapping, cost more than something else with the same weight and size?

Hiya
The price is based on the size or cubic metre, not the contents.
We have used Crown twice and they were fab,, another company who do specialise in smaller amounts in Excess Baggage so it may be worth getting a few quotes and trying to play them off on price.
Hope this helps

Hi everyone,
I used the online PSS contact form and about half an hour after I did I received some email about money transfer, am I being paranoid about them?, are they ok really?
