If you go to one of the big bottleshops (1st Choice/Dan Murphys) you'll find prices are fairly comparable to the UK. 40bucks for black label but start heading towards Laphroaig, McCallan and it's ilk...

After I suggested getting a bike here I had loads of folk saying I was mad for joining the ranks of "temporary australians" and I was a bit nervous at first getting on my first bike for 12 years....
