Re: Grammar? now it is back to school.

I love your technique for discrediting completely valid comments. I too shall use unfounded thinly veiled sarcastic comments to discredit whomever opposes my views in the future.

Well done on your...

Re: Google streetview

Clumsy in what sense? You can go down (or up) a street really easily, and also pan and zoom.

I use it quite frequently to see where exactly I'm going if I've not been before. This has come in very...

Re: Spain Pay-as-you-go mobile service with data connection??

Sorry, when I suggested Simyo I thought you were going to buy a new SIM card. I have two friends who tried getting their number ported, for one of them it took close to a month, and the other friend...

Re: Telephone socket

Oh if it's from a recent installation and it has never worked you can maybe complain to them and get it done for free.

Re: Telephone socket

It's a roseta de teléfono.

You'll quite likely get charged, in Barcelona they quoted me 90 euros to change a socket. They consider the threshold of your front door to be the border between...

Re: Spanish Lessons!

The first reply was perfect and succinct. lynnxa at some point you said spainrico didn't explain that 'puedo yo tener...' isn't the correct phrase to use, but in fact he did. You then basically...

Re: mail forwarding call taking expat call centre

In Barcelona the business centres I know of can all provide service in English, so you should ask them. It's certainly not the Queen's English, but if your clients are in Spain it shouldn't be much...

Re: Madrid V Coast

On the motorbike forums I read Spring is always a fun time for madrileños because they can take their bikes out again - I don't think year-round riding is feasible.

Maybe they're just pansies.

Re: mail forwarding call taking expat call centre

In Spanish they call these 'centro(s) de negocio(s)' and/or 'business centre', a quick google turned up at least 5 different ones in Alicante, so it would be a case of seeing which ones offer what...

Minor! I for one take this affront to a fellow internet stranger's honour very seriously and shall hunt thee down, ruffian. Remember my words!

Re: Nie

If you had the nice plastic credit card-sized NIEs you'll be ecstatic (not really) to find out they no longer give those out and instead print off an A4 sheet of paper. This A4 sheet of paper is now...

Re: can you become too spanish?

I don't know how correct it is, but I've certainly seen underwhelmed being used in situations where something has been over hyped. I digress though, I agree with not trying to over analyse it. (Maybe...

Re: can you become too spanish?

Yes, some Spanish women do use 'me suda la polla' and also 'no me toques los cojones'. Usually its younger people that say it and depending on the situation noting that they don't in fact have a...

Did you click on the 'Submit reply' button halfway through your sentence? I don't know if you're trolling or were trying to make a point.

If you were trolling, well played.

For language schools that focus on businesses, probably very difficult. With the current economy companies are slashing training budgets. Language schools focused on private lessons might be...

Re: Spain Pay-as-you-go mobile service with data connection??

Sorry for the delay, the 5 euro limit doesn't kick in after exactly 5 euros, I had 6.7 euros charged last month and 6.5 euros this month. It seems the billing lags a little behind the data usage, but...

Re: Spain Pay-as-you-go mobile service with data connection??

Yeah thats the webpage. It's not very clear, but notice for the 500mB they leave out 'día': the 500mB limit is monthly. Here (https://www.simyo.es/simyo/portal/store/select-data-priceplan) is a...

Re: Spain Pay-as-you-go mobile service with data connection??

If you have good coverage Simyo should do the trick for you. With their prepaid sim cards data is dirt cheap. 5 EUR/month for up to 500mB, if you need more they have 5gB for 25 EUR/month.

edit:...

The Simyo one I posted on the first page is unlocked unless I'm very mistaken, the company ethos is 'locked stuff is bad'.

The price also seems to be a lot better than Movistar or Vodafone, so if...
