Quick question for those that applied in march? When are you roughly expecting a decision to be made? We want to up sticks in Jan/Feb so would you advise applying now?

Hi! we were hoping to know either way by sep/oct as we need to sell house and really want to be living over in oz by mid jan, but the email we received with our acknowledgement said that due to a huge back log, the are currently processing august 2006!!! OMG! i cant bear the wait! Each case is different, so we can only hope and wait! (where are you heading and what do you do?) Traceyxx

My girlfriend is applying for the skilled visa as she is a hairdresser.

I am hoping to initially join her on a work/holiday visa but plan to apply for a spouse (de-facto) visa while we are over there.

Any advice?

Hi Janet no news for us either, Ive looked on the Queensland nurse council register and my name is on as a full member so that must have gone through but not back to me yet.Ive got medicals booked for 25th this month and pccs in process and a telephone interview for cairns base hospital on thurs, but no news on visa. my head is done in!!

Oh Janet, this is really crap for you, I'm sure they will reply but thought i'd read it can take 2 wks for a reply.... Think it's a wise decision to leave off the emails as much as you can. I dont check mine everyday, my ack was in my inbox for 2 days before i saw it!!! Dont worry will happen soon, there are stories of guys going straight to CO's..... fingers crossed for you.. S-j x

Hi S-j, Not heard anything from Beth. No pms and not seen any posts for a while.

I'm not expecting the hear anything from the on line enquiry for ages. Just live in hope for the ack. Got meds next week so it would have been nice to have the file reference but will be OK with passport number on. I'm going to be strong and not check the emails tomorrow In for a long haul me thinks!
