Re: Roof tiles, what's supposed to be under?

Kind of the reason why I asked. I'm from Norway and houses there have similar spec on the roofs. Good thing we don't get snowstorms here!

Re: Roof tiles, what's supposed to be under?

I've got concrete tiles. I wasn't really worried, I just wanted to know if what I had was normal. Thanks for the reply. It works, that's all that matters to me!

Roof tiles, what's supposed to be under?

Lifted a few roof tiles yesterday, didn't look quite how I expected under there!!!

There's just some battens and a aluminium foil backed cardboard thing. I always thought there was a second line...

Re: Kevin 07 T-shirts

Me too! He reminds me of my mother in law! Something with that sad expression :(.
Good ol' Johnnie is pretty sad too, but I'm used to him.

Re: would you have a south facing garden?

I'm not sure if it is much of an issue here. People go to great lengths to shade and close in their gardens with their Queensland/Paradise/Leisure/Sun whatever rooms. Can't remember to have seen...

Tax again

I've always been trying to do the minimum amount of paperwork with taxes. I don't hate taxes, but I definitely hate the process. And don't even get me started on paying tax on something that's been...

Re: bringing your pet with you any body doing it!

Our dalmation is 4 years old. She's got a bit of separation anxiety too, but I think its offset by the fact that she gets on with absolutely everybody. She lost a little weight in quarantine, but...

Re: How Hard is Renting With Dog, Children

The only issue is that in some places it can be really hard to find a place to rent these days. A dog certainly doesn't help, for us it meant that we had to go for a less than brilliant first rental....

Re: bringing your pet with you any body doing it!

We brought our dalmatian over, part of the family. Cost a bit, and quite stressful at times but definitely worth it. The dog handled it very well, no problem at all. Only difference is that she used...

Re: Can I do this again ....... gulp! Pingponging that is

You can't, but you can't be sure that you won't get hit by a car tommorrow either!

Probably you will have thought long and hard about this already, and came to the conclusion that it is the right...

Re: Is the Australian 'dream' dead?

That's a bit negative isn't it? Signs are that the drought is easing, maybe not everywhere all at once but nevertheless....

Re: Massive Decision Change

I'm pretty sure you have potential to make far more money than a tradesman. Your two keywords are mining and oil/gas. WA is obvious for both oil/gas and mining. Hunter/Newcastle is a good spot for...

Re: Flights with Qantas

Well, actually they do lie. At least they did it twice to me: On a recent flight I called in advance to request an emergency exit seat as I've got long legs. I was told twice that those seats are...

Re: Any scientists out there?

Don't have knowledge about bio stuff, but I think for science in general you've got 3 main options: Research centers linked to universities, CSIRO and private entities. First check that they are...

Re: Kenny ... the movie

Wasn't meant that way, sorry if I insulted you. What I meant is that there is a whole genre of television I don't get, and I simply wonder if that's why I don't understand Kenny.

Re: Kenny ... the movie

First time ever that I just didn't get it at all. Sure he's a character, mildly amusing but that's it. Watched about 1/3 of it. A lot of people obviously likes it, but I don't see it.
Do those who...

Water is an issue on the Central coast, so expect water restrictions. Pretty much all I know. Oh yes, you asked about the commute: The problem isn't the distance, it's getting in to Sydney. You have...

Re: downhill mountaining bike in perth

Don't know about Crazy Hill, but when I lived in Perth about 5 years ago I raced in the sport class for a couple of seasons. Here's what I remember:

Close to Perth: Goat Farm. Short, but good fun....

Re: Buying a car. What type? Before we arrive? Driving costs?

First things first: Get a cheap rental car for a couple of weeks. It isn't that expensive, and you will quite likely get a very good return on that money. I say that because it's very easy to buy the...
