Tax again
I've always been trying to do the minimum amount of paperwork with taxes. I don't hate taxes, but I definitely hate the process. And don't even get me started on paying tax on something that's been taxed once or twice before!Starting to realize that I have to bite the bullet and be a little smarter to avoid getting burnt by double taxation etc.
My old home country is Norway(Unfortunately we haven't got our own forum so I'm crashing BE). I don't see any Norwegian/Australian tax experts in the yellow pages. Do I need two tax consultants, one in Norway and one here in Aus? Do the ATO give advice? My situation is fairly simple, lives 100% here in Aus, but got some dividend from shares in Norway and starting to worry about inheritance.
Trying to read up as much as I can. Have found the tax agreement between AUS and Norway, but it's a lot of "may be taxed, may be credited" etc!
How do you do the taxes? Do it yourself, get a consultant in UK or here?

See if E-Tax is ok for you. I did mine on that and it was pretty easy straight forward. If you have more complicated affairs like property and odd investments then may be a tax person needed. Basically if you see your self as tax resident here then one tax return is all you need if norway has a double taxation agreement. Was easy for me.
