Thanks Andy

We are planning to live just north of Cairns centre have just been assured and with some piccies on another thread of what I wanted to know. I know I wont get SC GC beaches etc that doesnt bother me.

As long as I can sit and watch the world go by on my own little beach I will be extremely happy in my tropical home in Cairns.

Thanks for the advise about the crocs will gladly stay away from those although I have it on good authority (Steve Irwin) that they can only run a little way before the lactic acid kicks in, but suffice to say I wont get that close

Hi again Kaye, I stayed in a hotel near to the casino in Cairns, in the city centrem and didnt really see any sand on the beach, it was more pebbles, but a friend of ours from the UK went up there and stayed at Palm Cove, which I think is North of Cairns, he said it was lovely.

Cairns city doesn't have a beach, it's mud flats, so of course you wouldn't see much if any sand. You have to leave the city for beaches.

Hiya Kaye, hows it going?

I didn't know you'd changed your mind as to where you were going. Weren't you planning on going to Cleveland? What made you change your mind?

Tracey.

Hi Tracey

Things are going great how are you, getting a bit excited I bet. Heard you might be going to GC.

As much as I love Cleveland and area I want to be nearer the sea and have things a bit more laid back, Cairns has always appealed to me but was concerned about jobs have been reassured on that front.

The kids want to go to a school with a football influence and cairns offers one of those to. Houses are a bit cheaper and I can live in a beach suburb.

I know people talk about the heat but I will get used to that.

If it all goes wrong will head towards Cleveland though fingers crossed it wont.

What happened to all the N. East lot from the meet they seem to have disappeared we didnt frighten them off did we only see a couple on here now. I wonder if they are still going.

Speak soon

Holiday in a hot and humid country and you will be hot and humid.
Probably part of the reason you went there was to have a change from the norm.

Visiting for a few days, weeks or months is nothing more than an experience but it is not a norm.

After living and basing yourself somewhere for an extended period the 'ol body makes natural adjustments.

It's acclimatisation.

So don't judge what you can and cannot tolerate by purely comparing with your current habitat.

You will be living in a new one and your body will adapt accordingly.

Not saying that is a matter of fact for everyone.....but it will be true for the large majority.

Hiya Kaye.

No, I did think about the GC for the same reason, to be near a beach but I keep coming back to Cleveland

I suppose I will know better once I arrive

The commute put me off a bit but I now have the possibility of a job doing 12 hour shifts which would make it easier only doing it 3 days a week

I'll probably end up somewhere I hadnt even thought of when I get there and have a look round
