you should hear within a few weeks. they were quoting up to four weeks when i did mine.

they will only post to an australian address.

this can be transfered to any other state.
cost of course is about $850. plus $300 for ARTC application. then license...

ARTC certificates are either for electrical mechanic or electrical fitter.

you can still apply for artc even though you were assessed by vetassess. just download the form, fill it in with all supporting evidence and pay the fee ($300). i would wait for a positive outcome...

i wouldnt worry about being classed as fitter too much.
i got artc as fitter then went through the peer / SA route and now have full unrestricted license that can be transferred to any state.

i applied in 2007 but tra still do assessment for electrician special class. vetassess have taken over for general electrician.

i felt the description for special class was more suited to my job....

i stayed in the centre of adelaide and got a taxi there each day. cost about $15 each way.
