Re: Working in North Ryde; where to live??

I pressume you are not going to be a doctor any more on that wage.

Re: Gone on your own?

Came out last year on my own. Best thing I ever did. Wish I did it 10 years ago now. Go for it, at the end of the day there is nothing stopping you returning if it doesn't work out for you. As...

Re: Best Indian in Sydney?

Re: Beware of the unmarked cop cars in Redlands

60 KPH limits on country roads. What a farce, must be the slowest speed limits in the world. Don't know about un-marked cars; but the marked cars have a device hanging out the side rear window area...

Re: Mortgage Stress! - How to Save your Home.

There's a laugh, getting a house for 500K. Try double that. 10x a GOOD income, now who is going to give you a mortgage for that, and even if they did you couldn't afford the repayments.

Re: Getting (bike) Insurance with only UK licence

I was circa 13K for a pre-registered 600. Saved about $700 from buying out the crate when total on the road price is compared. Watch though you need to pay 3% of purchase price to transfer the rego...

Re: Car Loans

Re: Getting (bike) Insurance with only UK licence

Cheers, the dealer did manage to get me a quote, probably through Swann. The wanted nearly a $1000 to insure a 600 on full no claims. Bloody joke. Looks like I am over a barrel. Will be $600 with...

Re: renting in sydney - is it really that bad???

Re: Weather in Sydney

I think they count those days when you get a random small shower as a "rain day" in that though. Not like back in UK when you get "rain" all day.

Re: Any OT's moving to Australia?????

Not an OT, but to answer your question on medicals... It's just a chest x-ray for 457 (check for TB). Your employer will probably want a basic medical to ensure you are fit for purpose though.
