Is it the great secret that the Australian Government has been covering up in order for us all to come out here? The weather is actually the same as the UK's?

Just been to take my (tiny) bins to the road and yes..its still raining.

Supposed to be like this until at least next Monday..just like being at home

Doesn't Sydney have more than 150 days of rain per year?

I think they count those days when you get a random small shower as a "rain day" in that though. Not like back in UK when you get "rain" all day.

We've been in drought for the last 10 years. Be thankful for the rain. We're not complaining.

Sydney gets much more rain that London - it's just that it tends to fall in shorter, heavier downpours rather than prolonged periods of wet weather. It has been particularly bad this week though....!

The first time I went to Sydney as a backpacker, it rained solidly for 5 days and nights - heavy, warm rain. Quite impressive. However, the next couple of weeks were lovely. On my second visit it was 36oC the first day and 18oC for the next few.

Yeah, you're right and I love it The only problem with it when I was in Sydney was that we'd planned the city day when it was 36oC and the beach days when it was 18oC Still, that was my problem!

I'm a genuine Sydneysider (lived here for 28 years) and Sydney doesn't have the sort of weather where it rains every hot afternoon. It's not Darwin!

What you can say about Sydney is that it doesn't rain very often - but when it does rain, it really rains.
