But as to being able to afford what Marlborough has to offer, a fishing rod cost $50 , a half days ski pass and gear hire is $ 45, body boards cost $20...

Came here with $500.00 to our name, bought a house on a 100% mortgage, down to a single income now (new baby). It's tough at times, but managable, lots of great things to do here for free! :thumbsup:

There is a circus school in Christchurch, I know a few of the students make spare cash by doing kids parties, but they tend to end up being glorified babysitters, all the growups then getting pissed!
