there is a lot of work here that doesn't even get to the sites or the paper, sometimes it is a case of who you know not what you know especially around here I am a ridiculously overpaid FMCG marketeer in the UK so while I am expecting to sacrifice a chunk of my salary to move to NZ, can't really afford to accept much less than $100k pa. I am just a bit concerned that this might be slightly unrealistic in Nelson/Blenheim area but more achievable in a city. If anyone has any useful hints on where I might look for a job like this, I am all ears.... I have a few contacts from food businesses over here in the Uk that have passed on some details of food business in NZ so my fingers are crossed - I am just trying to manage my own expectations.

Hey do you know 18 months ago when we were looking at moving from UK to Blenheim there was hardly a mention of the place on here... now look at it!!!!

Would absolutely love to work in the wine industry and will certainly be contacting them shortly. I currently work with specialist cheeses - couldn't get a better match surely!!

Blenheim is a lovely, small town. However, as others have said, you're not far from Nelson, or Wellington. I like Palmy too, but it has crap weather sometimes. You can sit under a rain cloud for days, weeks... It's not near a beach, but it is quite central and not that far from Wellington if that's what you want (2 hours?) It has a reasonable shopping centre and houses are cheaper than lots of other places in NZ
