Sailed into Montreal with wife and two kids July 6 1963, caught the Canadian at Windsor station for Ottawa and never left.

Congratulations. We did consider moving out to BC when I retired in 1992 but after much soul searching decided to stay put here in Ottawa.

Ottawa boring? Anywhere can be boring depending on your lifestyle. I have lived in Ottawa for 50 years so I must be the most boring person on this forum.

Came to Ottawa 50 years ago and never left. Great place for bringing up a family. I worked in the high tech industry, retired from General Dynamics 21 years ago.

I had no plans to move in January 1963 but when I saw an adverisement for a job in Ottawa in a February Sunday Telegraph I applied and by July we were in Ottawa. BTW the add stated " Winter in Canada...

I came in July 1963 and it was 40C too warm for our English summer clothing. Back then A/C was not the norm and the Drawing Office I worked in was like a steam bath.

We got our White Christmas overnight. Not enough yet to satisfy the cross country skiers but enough to cover the grass and it's still coming down at 9AM.

Wife and I will be spending Christmas in Ottawa a tradition started in 1963. Did spend one misserable Christmas in Portugal in 1992.
