Re: Its beginning to NOT look like Christmas
10cm+ forecast tonight here in St. John's, then temps of -8 to -13c for Christmas Day. Looks like we'll be having a white Christmas.

Everything nice and white in Montreal now.
We have about 2 cm of snow on the ground and my 8 year old got to use her new snow shovel for the first time.

What was lying on the ground is melting fast and will continue to do so for the coming days as we are forecast to be at around 5-8 degrees. Makes it great for a walk on Christmas day, or for heading out to ski hills.
Not to worry though snowcandy - I figure January will make it up to you somehow

Never mind, at least there is a little bit left on the ground, the sun is shining and the skies are blue and we are here in Canada, so can't grumble!!!!

Snowed heavily here today....but then it stopped. Some has melted but it is supposed to snow this evening and all day tomorrow. If that's the case we'll have a very white Christmas!!!

Re: Its beginning to NOT look like Christmas
I've always loved the official definition of a 'white Christmas' in UK ....ie one snowflake falling during Christmas Day (even if it melts before hitting ground)....... 3 feet of already lying snow does not count
In Canada, 2 cm of lying snow on Christmas Day officially constitutes a 'white Christmas'
methinks the bookies influence this

There is more snow on my Christmas cake than in our backyard

We got our White Christmas overnight. Not enough yet to satisfy the cross country skiers but enough to cover the grass and it's still coming down at 9AM.
