What month did you decide to emigrate?
#1
Just wondering if the time of year makes a difference with the decision to emigrate.

I thought it would be a good idea in November '68 and landed in March '69. I never thought about the time of the year !

The time of year made no difference, entirely due to work timing. Activated PR in January, commuted (a lot) between Calgary and London Jan to October then moved over for good. Maybe I immigrated twice!

The decision was made over several years. Mailed the PR application in May.

Respect is due! Although recce in April suggests you had thought about moving before - it had honestly never crossed our minds until the March when OH was contacted completely out of the blue and offered a job here. So maybe we still win? Unless anyone else knows better....

We have been to Canada a few times and knew at some point in our lives we would want to live there.
After 3 exceptionally difficult years we decided to follow our dream in April. Our son is 6 so it's now or never as we don't want him entrenched in the UK education system or for him to get to an age where he wouldn't want to come with us.
Reece in August, job interviews while we were out there - now awaiting LMO approval. Been told to expect it early Jan - then notice gets handed in and off we go.
