Re: Nursing Home in Espana

It will work if done correctly. Think about foreign travel. It didn't take off for the masses until it was made easy with the package. The property boom followed because it was made easy. When people...

Re: Nursing Home in Espana

Sorry Denise you've lost me now. Are you talking about running a business or some sort of philanthropic act, where you spend your money?

Re: Nursing Home in Espana

Traditionally the Spanish have not needed care for the elderly as they have looked after each other in the home. Following the end of the dictatorship however and the freeing of women, there has been...

Re: Smoke coming back in

It is because the stove/fireplace (not sure what you mean by estufa) airflow from room to chimney/flue is incorrect. You will need a narrowing in the chimney (venturi) to create a low pressure so...

Re: U/K Plated Car back to U/K

Simple as this really. At the moment you have a perfectly loved for and legal car. On arrival in the UK you have 6 months to import it into the UK. Or, you can buy a car that the current owner was...

I previously posted this:

I don't suppose I am allowed to name and shame but let me share my experience.

I broke a large filling which I knew would most likely require a crown.

Re: Leaving Spain deeply sad

Always sad to hear about someone who tried but it didn't work out.

My tuppence worth. Leave the house as neutral, but as ready to go as possible. The cost of white goods in the UK is low and...

Re: Brit populations near big cities.

IMO this is the big one. The speed at which this pack of cards has fallen is breathtaking. Not just Spain but other countries, notably Ireland, UK and Dubai. Anywhere that relied on the property...

Re: Dog-Friendly B&Bs/small hotels??

The motorway service area just south of Beaune in both directions has a motel. It has three levels of rooms. 1 2 and 3 star. If you don't need a/c the 2 star rooms are great. There is a space between...

Re: Coloured Meat

I was a Saturday lad for Dewhursts in the 60's. We used to put pink coloured spices in both the burger and sausage meat. Despite well hung meat being dark, the buyer much prefers meat a bright colour.

Re: People Leaving and handing keys back to the bank

The person borrowing the money has a liability to repay it. If after fees and a distressed sale the bank is out of pocket they may well have to write it off, but it will do your credit rating no...
