Re: For those that have yet to make the move ---

I'm a teacher and found it almost impossible to get any sort of information or offers from employers before arriving here (Brisbane) However, within a few days of stepping off the plane was inundated...

Re: Springfield Lakes Brits.

Re: Payg phones in the UK at the moment...best value

Think you'll find you get a better deal in the UK if u look around. Most of the cap deals in Oz are such a con because the calls on them are so expensive. Try Tesco mobile £10 gives u the sim card...

Re: Uk flights

Air Lanka tend to codeshare with Emirates so may find that part of the routing is with them (probably Colombo onwards to Australia). I've never flown with Air Lanka but had decent reports of them.

Re: UK Teaching Pensions - what to do?

I spoke to them today and will definately leave it here. It's a far better scheme than superannuation and you can claim a reduced sum from 55 onwards if required.
Yes, exchange rates will be...

Re: Anyone living in Springfield Lakes?

Take a look at the Kerdic homes website for some house and land packages in Brentwood (starting from about $380,000 for a 4 bed place) Land on it's own seems to be going for aound the $180, 000 mark...
