Default Brisbane Houses

Hi Guys

Quite a straight foward question for you,

Is it possible to buy a first time buyers house for $350000 somewhere within 50k's of Brisbane?

Hopefully not next door to an axe murderer drug dealer!!!!?!

Thanks

Yes. Depending on what kind of property you are after you could probably get something 5kms from the city.

Southside:

Northside:

Inner Brisbane (according to Realestate.com):

Expect to pay 90-95% of asking prices.

If you're not bothered about having lots of land...try looking at Springfield Lakes. Went there last year and it was a lovely area with good facilities. Only downside is some of the plots are very small. Maybe about 30km from the CBD.

Try:

You won't get any better advice than that which bcworld has already given mate...good luck.

If I were you, I would spend many hours over the coming months doing those same searches over and over again. You will see that some houses are only listed for a week or two before disappearing....whereas others are listed for many, many months. After a while you will get an appreciation of which houses are overpriced and which are priced more fairly. But you will have to put in the hours.

cheers

If you're not really bothered about land you might want to consider a townhouse - this would open up more possibilitieis in your price range and perhaps get you closer to the city and in better suburbs with better transport options than you might otherwise be able to get. There are so many good suburbs in brisbane it is hard to recommend only onw or two - for more information on suburbs you might want to check out the ourbrisbane website which has suburb profiles and gives info on transport, school and shopping in the area. Once you've had a look at this and the realestate.com site perhaps you could ask questions about specific suburbs you are considering, which might generate better feedback for you.

5? did you leave the 0 off?

OP unless you are happy with a unit (flat) you'll probably need to look at least 20kms+ out of city. As BC said, realestate.com.au is a good place to start, as is www.ourbrisbane.com to familiarise yourself with the suburbs. Good luck!

Nah, 5! I was thinking of a shack on the Gympie Rd somewhere - I don't know how picky the OP is!

For the OP, the one search I didn't put in was SE suburbs, but you'll find places out towards bayside like Alex Hills, Capalaba in your price range if you search there - you'd need to check out each street, but I think a lot of areas around there are pretty decent.
