tamani hotel in dubai marina had great rates (i believe 3 beds were 162k aed all in, apart from telephone). 2 great pools, gym, breakfast at 6am free, and sea views...

too bad i moved to abu...

i was also looking at hotel apts, but i couldn't find a 3 bed for less than 330k/year.

moved the other way... you could move to Khalifa City A or Raha, both off island, and about the 220k mark for 3 beds.

schools wise - Al Yasmina is British Curriculum (39k aed/year), Al raha...

30-40 mins depending on how fast you drive from JLT, JBR or DM.

Al rahba looks like a nice hospital from the outside..

I agree if you want to save money further I'd opt for Discovery Gardens,...

Etihad do e-deals on their website every monday. last week, they had retrurn flights to the uk (Manchester & London Heathrow) FOR 200 aed, which came to 1200 AED incl. taxes & surcharges.
