IMO Life is life where ever you live- Oz isn't an escape...its hard work (at times), tooooo much traffic (in Sydney anyway ;), expensive (in Sydney anyway),...

The property market has slowed here (Sydney), although I doubt we will see large reductions in price in more desirable areas.

I can only speak for the area we are renting in, and here...

We moved over to Oz in October 2006, and retained our house in the UK as a rental property (we were initially here on a 457).
We hav had two sets of tenants since we left. The first moved out...

6mths doesn't seem very long after all the effort to get here, but if you are unhappy, several months must seem like years.
It may be worth moving inter state first, before going back to the UK.

Ours took 13 days, so there appears to be huge variation on processng times....it will come through though, its just a matter of time :)
