We flew out last month with SA and were 27 kgs over our 40kgs each limit, the nice lady on check in let us off (about £700) as excess baggage is charged @ £32 per kg.

Our Singapore Air flights cost us £1450 for 3 Adult seats and 1 Child seat (we had to pay full fare for our eldest child as he is over 12) which we found to be very cheap.

The rate has been dropping since the middle of April when it hit a high of 2.5. I hope it goes back up soon as I am about to complete my house sale too.
