Good point. You need your NIE to get your residencia. If it´s your NIE you want then passport and 2 photos should surfice. Take your Spanish bank account though but I don´t think we needed it. ...

My NIE number goes back to 1987 when we lived in Spain for a year and my husband´s goes back even longer. The number is with you for life. Are you sure that he doesn´t mean your Padron?
