Default Car into the Spanish system

Today and with the help of sound recommendations on this site went to Ondara. The care past the test not a problem but then just two small documentary problems. The individuals recommended here were first class.

However the certificate of conformity was a photocopy and came with us from France. The original is with the French system. Sorry Trafico will not accept a copy - I understand that but to get an original is either back to France or to Slough which is the HQ of Honda.

Then our NIE. These were issued in 2013 when we came here to understand Spain and then moved back due to family illnesses.

The gestor said today Trafico needs a new NIE for you and yes the number is with you all of your life but they need an updated one for 2013 shows it has run out.

We now have residencia and in the health system and pardon and all those good things. However I just do not have the time to go back to Denia I have for business reasons having to go back to the UK hence today in Ondara.

Any advice please?

I think you may have been mis-advised regarding the NIE. The old certificates do NOT run out. However, should have been straight forward to get a new one - irrelevant as you now have you registration certificate.

Regarding conformity - maybe cheaper/easier to just get it inspected here in Spain?

Hi and good morning have found the original c 0f c with the water marks so that is fine.

However the provider of the service is adamant that trafico will not accept an nIE which whilst having our number has run out!

We have residencia everything so surely we do not have to renew the NIE every three months. We had ours in 2013 when we spent eight months here before returning to the UK for family health issues. Everywhere be it for Gas water Movistar etc they have accepted that NIE?

thanks

I have never renewed my NIE it dates back to 2004 when we bought our house. Normally it is the padron that seems to cause concern and sometimes needs updating when dealing with this sort of thing.

They accepted mine recently!

If there is no date on the (white, A4) sheet, then it doesn't expire and they are simply wrong.

Use your certificate of registration (no such thing as residencia for eu member) - they can't complain about that.

My NIE number goes back to 1987 when we lived in Spain for a year and my husband´s goes back even longer. The number is with you for life. Are you sure that he doesn´t mean your Padron?
