Re: Moving out of rental

I think it was around $125 - we'd lost the will to argue by that point. Can't believe I'm having to join the rental market again - joy!

Re: Moving out of rental

Re: what year is sixth form in Oz

My experience is based on two Catholic girls' schools based in Melbourne. I don't know how accurate it is for other schools.

My girl's 14 1/2. She's in Year 8 (about to start Year 9). She's...

Re: can my daughter get admission in primary school in age of 4 ?

Depends on when her birthday is and which state.

Unless it's changed since we came, in Victoria you can start in the January if your child turns 5 before the end of April.

Mine did and was the...

Re: Travel Insurance - any recommendations?

I used them as well and thought they were pretty good.

Re: How else can I look for a job?

Everything Elice said plus: they do a lot of electronic keyword searches here so when you're producing your resume send a copy on word as well as/instead of a more readable pdf. Make sure you've...

Re: Anniversary Weekend in Vic

Inverloch's small but lovely and not too far - it's a shame you probably won't be there long enough to head over to Wilson's Prom while you're there.

Have a lovely anniversary.

Re: Job application process...

Not sure if anyone's mentioned this but many recruiting companies use keyword searches which scan resumes for words they've chosen as key to the post - usually easily picked up from the job...

Re: Emirates flight, 8 hour wait, any hotel?

Not sure about the other airlines but you can pay to use the Emirates business class lounge which includes showers, coffees, food, etc. Supposed to be well worth it for stays of 3 hours plus.

Qatar also flies Melbourne to Manchester and other less popular routes.

They're usually quite good value but check the stopover time as the changeover between planes is often less than an hour...
