Well i am not sure about the rest of australia but in SA the salary is comparable if not better than UK - well it is for primary teachers- the only problem is that there aren't a great deal of jobs...

SIR 136 or SIR 495

does any one know the difference??

is it that for a 495 you have to get state sponsorship and for 136 you don't??

do you have the same must work for 12 months before able to apply for permanent...

I don't think anyone would bother how long they have been off - we are planning to have a 'holiday' for one month before sending ours off to school. My only concern is that they will settle quicker...
