Re: Draught Guinness

It's not only Guinness, most "famous" foreign beers are ridiculously expensive - Corona, Belgian beers and German too.
Serving them you show your guests that you have enough money ...
Our Lidl...

Re: First experience free fall

Concrete was my problem!
The hospital was thinking about having an operation - but only the military hospital in Budapest does this, so the ambulance took me there.
But luckily we went back to...

Re: Anniversaries, Birthdays and Holidays

Yes, name days are important!
My wife is lucky there. Several of her old friends and family members have the same name "Ibolya" so she designs greetings just once and modifies them slightly.
You...

But the craziest...

Scam and phishing in Hungary!

Seems it happens everywhere!
A friendly neighbour (also in her 70s) just told my wife that her daughter had called her:

Mother asked - what...

Re: Residency Card and travel

As I understand it as a UK citizen you have to apply for a residency permit in any case.
A bit OT:
One of my sisters has been married to an Englishman for more than 40 years now and...

This of course hurts those of our neighbours who like to go shopping in Slovakia - just across the Danube.

Re: Police chase in Kaposvar, Hungary

On two streets we have "sleeping policemen" which limits the speed for most people - probably some high ranking people live there who don't want to be disturbed.
But the other streets?
And don't...

Among the 6 letters/digits there had to be at least...
