I obtained such a visa as a brother. There is good info on the DIMIA website - and despite the fact that my agent said it could take 2 years it actually took 7 months.

Hello astone. I live on the Central Coast having moved to Oz in Feb. The area is cheaper than Sydney but still quite high compared to other places (the Sydney commuters pushing up the prices)....

I arrived in NSW 6 weeks ago. The UK licence is only valid for 3 months. To get an NSW licence I had to have a v quick eyesight test and then pass a computer based Knowledge Test. This was quite easy...
