We have been watching the exchange rate closely over the past month or so. It shot up to 2.6??? and has been pretty stable over the past week or so.

We decided to take the plunge today and got that rate so we were pretty happy.

Will hopefully have more to change when the house is sold and I would be happy to get that rate again.

When I started this post the rate I was quoted from CBA was 2.439, which I thought seemed OK.

We have sat on the cash from the house sale and today the rate quoted by CBA was 2.643.

Anyone else looking to move the cash at the moment?

The question is to stick or twist.........anyone with crystal balls ??

HSBC - known as Honkers & Shankers.

Well they were the only Hankers and Shankers that would give us a loan on the Visa we were out on, so this week I am pleased with them.

We use the Commonwealth Bank, but their charges can be high. Charged everytime you make a transaction of any kind unless you have a credit card, then you are only charged for the one time every month when the Credit Card has to be paid.

We have found them to be very helpful, especially if you go to the main branch, and get a quick service and decisions made quickly.

2 days and we knew whether they were going to lend us the money.

HSBC - very efficient professional bank, they took over Midland in the UK when Midland was foundering. HSBC listed on LSE to avoid uncertainties prior to China taking back HK and are a huge global banking group run predominantly (and historically) by a backbone of clever Scottish expats.
