It's 12 months from the date of your police check or medicals, whichever was the earliest. It will state the required date on your visa.

Once validated you then have 5 years to get over to Aus on...

Worst so far has got to be PIA Pakistan International Airways which I flew from Heathrow to Dubai in 1989 - well they were cheap at the time !

I'd also recommend HIFX. They allow you to track the progress of your money transfer on-line via their web site. They also made the whole thing realyl easy for us. :)
