Bit dissapointed that we didn't receive the famous "yellow envelope", just a plain white envelope but the grant letter inside more than made up for it.
Our agent has pulled a few strings and arranged for me to visit Australia House in London and get the visas stuck in our passports on Monday morning. We're booked for the visa validation trip to Brissy (staying in Mount Tamborine) on Friday, talk about cutting it fine - whew !
Thanks to all on this board who have chipped in with answers to my questions over the past year and a bit. To everyone out there who feels stressed during the process - hang on in there - the weight that is lifted off your shoulders when that letter finally drops onto yuor doormat is an undescribable feeling.
The nobby's will be having a half a shandy each this evening !
Visa : class 136, skilled ind
Timeline :-
Engaged agent : Feb 2003
Lodged case with DIMIA : Oct 2003
Police checks : Jan 2004
Medicals : Feb 2004
Granted : Oct 2004

Nobby, if you really want a yellow envelope, let me have your address and I'll send you one - we have a cupboard full at work! Then your happiness would be complete

Re: We Got It, We Got It !
Thanks everyone for the congrats messages.
Ouch, bit of a sore head this morning after one shandy too many this weekend.
All sorted now, flights booked (even checked out what movies are playing on the flight), first night hotel booked, rental accomodation booked, car booked, 14 day itinerary planned, well you get the idea - I'm a control freak !
Looking out of the window here this morning and it's cold with grey skies. Can't wait to get a taste of that warm weather and blue skies on the Gold Coast
