Thankyou all for you best wishes.
Can assure you all mucho
consumed this weekend!!!!
sjn 2003 we are moving to Lithgow which is in a valley at the top of the blue mountains - hubby has his family there.
Bet you are getting excited now - the time is just flying for us and for you to I bet. Are you organised??? Despite our best efforts I still think our date of departure will arrive and there will be lots of things we didn't get time to do.
Best of luck with everything!
By the way - where are you staying in Singapore? We chose Pan Pacific but got told the hotel couldn't confirm out dates so have to choose another hotel.

I got my letter this morning - initially thought that Aus High Comm were just returning my documents etc but sure enough there was a letter confirming that I have been granted my provisional spouse visa (subclass 309).
I am sooooooooooooooo relieved!!!!! And sooooooooo excited!!!! I think I probably woke all the neighbours I shrieked so loud.
For those that are applying for a spouse visa my timeline is below, I must point out that I was cat B as I am over the preferred bmi other than that i have no health issues. I have been having sleepless nights as we have booked our flights for departure 4th November and hubby and I finish work next week so took a bit of a risk hoping the visa would come through quickly and thank goodness it did.
Best of luck to anyone else applying or currently playing the waiting game - it is all worth it in the end!!!!
For anyone looking for flights etc, Singapore airlines have a deal on for flights in November - £559 London - Sydney. We also booked our hotel in conjunction with the airline on their singapore stopover special - choice of 5 bands of hotel based on what you want to pay. The likes of Hilton/Intercontinental/Oriental/Pan Pacific etc - £60 per room per night which I think is a bargain!!! So 2 return flights London - Sydney and 3 nights in Singapore for abt £1300. The deal includes free hotel transfers and transport in Singapore aswell as free entry and discounted entry to attractions.
Timeline
18.06.04 Sent for police person record (London)
20.07.04 Police person record received
28.07.04 Xrays at Kingston Hospital - £45
29.07.04 Medical - Dr Steer, Kingston - £95
06.08.04 Medical report received from Dr Steer
14.09.04 Finally mailed front loaded spouse visa application
15.09.04 Application delivered to Aus High Comm
16.09.04 Payment taken
20.09.04 Written Acknowledgement received from Aus High Comm
09.10.04 Confirmation letter of visa grant received & documents returned

Congratulations, lucky you, hardly any waiting at all!
Quick question...when you received your written acknowledgement from Aus High Comm did it mention that your medicals had been sent to Oz for processing? We sent our spouse application in 21/09, received acknowledgement 28/09 and advice that medicals had been sent to Oz as my partner is diabetic.
Just wondering as you received your visa so quickly with a Cat B medical, this could give us an idea of how quickly we may or may not get ours.
Thanks

Jimcrow, my acknowledgement letter didn't mention my meds being sent to Oz at all. Sorry not much help - hope all goes well and that you get a speedy response!!!
