We're off to Brisbane for 2 weeks in November
(Hooray!!!!!!!!!)
We are mostly going to do research into areas to live , jobs etc.....
We want to have a bit of fun too!!!!!!!!!!!
What are the MUST-DO things to see or do in Brisbane or the surrounding areas?
If we only do 2 or 3 "touristy" things - what should they be???
Suggestions?? Please???
Thanks
Carole and Chris

You should go to Mt. Cootha lookout at night, there is a great resterant there and the view from there at night is of the city lit up, you will fall in love with the place for ever.
Southbank is nice, Kodak beach at southbank is great but busy on a hot day.
Caxton Street and Paddington i good for pubs and the comedy club.
O'Reilly's 1 1/2 drive is amazing if you like walking

All of the above are really good. Don't forget the beaches as well. Get away from the touristy areas and head north up to the sunshine coast to the likes of Kings Beach or Mooloolabah.
Australia Zoo is a worth a visit, but if you don't have time for a whole day up there, Lone Pine Sanctuary 10 mins outside the city is very good (half the price) and while there are no croc's, you can cuddle a koala and feed roo's there.
This website is quite a useful one for things to do and see. http://www.ourbrisbane.com

1) Go on river cat;
river bus that goes down Brisbane river, stopping at various places in town. Cost about $2 and is a fantastic relaxing way of seeing the city from the water.
2) Southbank beach;
A beach in the middle of Brisbane with botanical parklands.
3) Brisbane city Sunday markets;
Fantastic Sunday day out. Relaxing atmosphere, good food cafes or restaurants and lots of goodies to buy [craftwork etc]
Brisbane is a fabulous place to live.......lots to see and do. Enjoy

You just HAVE to go to Fraser Island, it's amazing!
Loads of history, and the most amazing clean water lakes and streams I have ever seen! We were late back to the bus when we went to Lake McKennzie!!
Have Fun!!
