The process to get residency in the EU is easier by this route, its not about UK rules.

it's useful because as a UK national your non EU wife has to get an entry visa for 27 months then after she has done the time and passed the Life in UK test she 'may' get indefinite leave to remain...

I regularly travel from Javea to Calais and vice versa.

My preferred route is always via Saragossa and Pamplona to Bordeaux. Then on to Tours, LeMans Rouen (not good) and Calais. I avoid any route...

Should have stated most of my hires are 10-14 days and I rent every other month ie at least 6 times a year. :rolleyes: Just did one last week at Advantage for 24 days and was charged 60 euros total...

Simply not true.

You will need to go through the visa process and then apply for residency. Additionally remember UK is not a member of the Shengen agreement so he will need a UK visa for the UK...
