In my opinion Estepona is a nice little town, bit of life, shops and restaurants. Although i am not sure that i would want to do that distance to GIB every day

where are you starting from? - there is a bus from Fuengirola that goes to Marbella (you can pick that up on route if you are travelling from this direction) - change at Marbella and get a local bus...
