Hello,
We have just handed in our application today as we live in Adelaide. It is a 136 skilled independent visa MODL. We are currently on a 457 visa. I want to change jobs but I am tied to my employer for the duration of the 457 visa.
Occupation: pathologist
Husband, wife and two children (14 & 11).
Front loaded police checks.
Waiting for request for medicals.
Looks like we'll have to go offshore for evidencing. An unnecessary extra expense.
Glad that things seem to be moving faster now at DIMIA.

Yes my hubby needs a oz police check, as he was backpacking for 12 months, i cant believe it can take up to 30 days, has anyone else had to wait this long??

My application got to Adelaide 19/03/07, and I went for my medical today (24th), thought I might as well since I'm still in Sydney for a few more weeks, no sense waiting til I get back to the UK and sending it from there?!

I took me ages to decide Queensland and then narrow it down to the Brisbane/Gold Coast area...god knows when i'll decide where exactly, (we don't have kids though) we're hoping to buy a business...so i guess it'll depend on that...do you have an idea? It does seem though most Marchies are heading that way..

Is anybody else insanely checking their DHL tracking? It's driving me nuts that it left Amsterdam at 14.00 yesterday afternoon and hasn't been logged in anywhere else....where o where can it be....

I did the checking on the internet tracking obsessively. I think this whole process turns you in to a nutter. I'm sure I am developing OCD. I keep checking my emails for an acknoledgement, then it will be for a case officer. I think I need to get a life!
