We'll hopefully be in the March crew, just getting to grips with form 80

Think everything else is pretty much sorted.
He're hoping we all get good responses and can all spend Christmas in the sun!

Welcome to Banoff, Winston Lights and McHelen I've added you to the spreadsheet.

It's only the middle of the month and there are 20 of us already!

Let me know if there are any mistakes or updates needed.

Cheers, Janet

madness i know but we aint taking nowt with us but a couple boxes

we have decided to start a fresh, most are big furniture needs replacing anyway, so we gonna ship a couple boxes with some personal bits in but other than that and our suitcases its just us

thats about right i think for that size container from wot ive read on other threads, if ya have a search am sure you will find the most popular companies

what is everyone doing about medicals and pcc's? are you going to frontload? i suppose depends on when you are planning to go, we may not go til next feb/march/april time so we wanna hold out on our medicals for as long as we can, but then other days we thinking we gonna go soon as we get visa!! ohh i dunno really living in a mad world right now

Hi Dawn - I'll update the spreadsheet today. You know I'm in 2 minds over shipping. You read some threads saying people wished they'd never shipped their stuff - you wait so long for it to arrive and the cost. Then you read other threads from those who didn't ship and they detail the cost of replacing everything. I just don't know. We'll be staying with OH's sister for a while when we arrive so having all our stuff will be an issue as it will have to be stored. I just don't know. I'd definately like to ship some of the boy's toys over but I guess they have the likes of Toysrus out there so it might not be worth it. Decisions. Will worry about it more when I have a lovely visa in my passport

For the PCC's and Meds - I've sent of the form for the PCCs as it's only a tenner each. Got a letter back saying will take up to 40 days. If we've no case officer by say August/Sept - I'll just send off for them again. The meds is trickier as it's not something I'd like to pay for twice! I'm thinking of going for these in the school summer hols so some time in July. Would be great to have a case officer requesting them before then of course.

I have a dream of flying out between Christmas and New Year - would love to spend Christmas here but start the New Year in Aus. I keep looking at flights for around the 28th Dec and I'm dying to book them. Totally would be tempting fate and a bit bonkers I know so I am resisting the urge

Hiya all,
we have decided to ship a few of our things mainly due to my sis saying how much it cost to replace over in oz,heres wot we are taking :
washer,dryer,1 childs bike,2 adult mountain bikes,pc,hifi, and personal papers in boxes of course, wedding dress, thats about it,my sis lives in brisbane so we are lucky enough to ship them before we leave and she is gonna store them in her garage.we are going to use crown internationals as she reckons it shouldnt cost us around say £450 to send that lot,so cheaper than replacing and at least we dont have to be without them when we get there, just not looking forward to being here without a washer, but decided to get rid of most of our clothes and just get by at the launderette.wish me luck lol.

POSTED ON BEHALF OF ANDREA

Hi
We are just finalising last minute signatures to our visa documents and hope to send them out by the end of next week.

I was going to organise courier "we deliver the world" DHL to pick up package as I have read they are pretty good, but can you advise do I need to provide a envelope or do they provide it, and if i need to provide one what sort do I get, an ordinary envelope or a super-duper strong jiffy bag.

Sorry if this is a daft question but it's bugging me as I want the paperwork to get there without it getting damaged.

Oh one more q, I have read on threads that some people send stuff to London, is this because they have an agent? I have done the TRA myself (Success) and have done the visa application on my own as OH, myself and daughter are I think quite a straight forward case (I hope)

Thanks if you can adivse me.

Looking forward to e-mailing you with my March date very very soon.
Andrea

Hi Andrea - welcome to the thread.

I used UPS so can't advise on how DHL work - sorry - Im sure someone else has used them. I think that it is only certain visa types such as the spouse visa that get posted to London. If you are applying for one of the General Skilled Migration Visas they get posted to Adelaide.

Cheers, Janet
