ok update, rang solicitor who informs me that the sale of my house is ready to go through BUTTTT, my buyers buyer has only just had survey done on my buyers property FFS. got EA chasing up some more info, dosent look lke we'll be going on 18th after all at least we've got until 8th dec, but veryyyyyyyyy annoying

OMG Daunted. I hope that there is a simple explanation. Is it half term where you are? Could they have gone on holiday?

If you can't get hold of them, ask you solicitor to PHONE his solicitor and check out the situation. His solicitor will protect his client, but s/he can not lie to another solcitor. So if s/he asks if the exchange is still expected to go ahead, s/he will have to tell the truth.

no exactly what your feeling, so naffed of at moment, was all set to go o 18th now looks like we wont but hopefully it will only take an extra few weeks

cheers, going to leave it til mid next week to see if there are any developments and then i'll change flights. like i said to solicitor it will be to late next week to confirm the 14th as completion as we've got to much to do with 1 weeks notice. so will change flights but its by how much we have to be in aus by 8th ( i think or 6th?) otherwise our visas will expire

believe me i did, and all she said was we dont advise making arrangements before dates are set, YOU DONT SAY!!!!!!!, like i said before we had flights booked already and had 8 weeks to play with i didnt think that it was inconceivable for that to be enough time, OBVIOUSLY I WAS NOT ARWARE THAT I WOULD BE DEALING WITH COMPLETE INCOMPETENT MORONS.

Well! I was just very brave and just phoned the really nice woman from the family who viewed our house about 4 weeks ago. At the time they said they were really keen and in a position to buy without selling. They said they were going to do their sums and get back to us. We had heard nothing.

Anyway, I just rang them to ask if they had seen that we had dropped the price and it seems that they had done their sums and had come up short, so hadn't made an offer. The wife said they loved the house and would do their sums again.

I need some K's here for an offer before we have to go back to the shonky EA!

Rant away! I think you were remarkably restrained!! We have COMPLETED in 5 weeks before now - so 8 weeks to exchange seems reasonable. Had to laugh at this bit;
