Yes, the UK is truly blessed with wonderful, accessible countryside and a climate that makes walking all year round possible, (unlike in Aus where you can really only walk for part of the year...

If money were no object, I wouldn't live in Aus on a permanent basis, I would maintain a home there and split the rest of the time between somewhere nice in the UK and a home in Europe - preferably...

Quite a few Australian 'burbs are like American ones where you have to get in your car to travel to the nearest shop. Where I live is a bit like that, except that I live in the part that is 5 minutes...
