Re: Negative Vibes.

Fair call but your assertion that the lifestyle is better simply doesn't add up to me. We go kayaking at a local club every other week; my daughter plays hockey at weekends, swims every week, goes to...

Re: Negative Vibes.

Like I said, insecurity. Kiwis love to bash England mainly because it justifies their own isolated little existence in NZ. Where I worked 90% of the staff had never left NZ. And that wasn't through...

Re: Negative Vibes.

Crap lifestyle you say? Where exactly in the UK did you live? Our lifestyle encompasses all that we did and had in NZ, and is much better in some cases! We live an outdoor lifestyle as time/weather...

Re: Long term Opportunities for the Kids?

Difficult but just bear in mind that a very significant proportion of educated Kiwis end up earning in Australia, UK and USA. This is for the obvious reasons that NZ does not have the same level of...

Re: how dangerous in nz?

What a shame. Shirley Mall had just been developed when we left and we really liked what they had done. Very modern and bright. Great Cinemas and bars too. However, I had experience of the local kids...

Re: how dangerous in nz?

NZ has its youth problems does it not? Suicide? Heavy drug use? Road deaths? Random violence? What's your point? I recall numerous instances whilst in NZ of police officers having to leave certain...

Porirua gets tough on vandals

Feb 12, 2005

Schools in Porirua, north of Wellington, have got tough on vandalism - by refusing unauthorised people access to their grounds between the...

Re: how dangerous in nz?

So Nottingham is one big crimewave with everyone toting an automatic?! Funny, but my 21 year old cousin is at Uni there and loves it. As a student he lives in a less than salubrious area and is out...

Re: Are you all mad.................

Top reply Roger.
A tiny minority of Kiwis travel outside NZ for their holidays. If you are prepared to accept that that too is likely to be your fate then fine. If you might just find that...

Re: Crime in NZ v UK

Re: Will the Lions win??

Well we've picked the most dynamic pack available which is an admission by SCW that he got it wrong. If we don't win it won't be for the lack of invention this time. But it IS a big ask.

Re: COULD YOU MANAGE ON $36000nzd In NEW ZEALAND WITH A YOUNG FAMILY?

To be honest I personally would avoid East of the city if you can. That is just a rule of thunmb though. We had a lovely house in North New Brighton. However you will be hard pressed to find 'good'...

Re: All Blacks Here We Come

Is that the same 'fast and wide' game they tried in the World Cup? I hope so! Without the forwards winning good ball they won't do a thing! By the way. Wilko won't even start the game, he'll be on...

Re: This Sceptred Isle

In NZ the media like to bash London and equate it with all of England. However, the vast majority of our friends that have visited from these shores are simply blown away by it. I still get a buzz...

Re: This Sceptred Isle

The majority of our friends live and work in London in stressful but well paid jobs and none of them would consider changing their lifestyles for another. London truly is a miracle.
