My wife registered through NSW and later found out they wouldnt send out a validated registration through the post. She had to fly to Sydney and present herself in person at the NSW offices. :curse:

Got a 4 burner out of Bunnings for $199, plus another $65 for a starter gas bottle. Its more than suitable for our needs. Cooked for 7 people last weekend. :thumbsup:

Agreed. We are out in Brisbane on a 457 and had our licence changed within 2 weeks. You need your passport, UK licence, credit card and a bill showing your address ( ie. rental agreement)

Who are the best or better banks to open an account with in OZ?

Looking at Commonwealth Bank of Australia and WestPac, at the moment. Anyone thoughts on them or any other OZ banks?

If there is not guarantee to protect savings, then the banks have no safety net for all those city high flyers who want to get rich at our expense.

We fly out on the 25th Nov. Then after 3 nights in Hong Kong, we touchdown in Brisbane on the 29th Nov. :D
