Default Bargain Barbecues

Hi everyone,

Anyone got any brilliant bargains they'd like to recommend in the current sales?

Am looking for a reasonably simple 4 burner, already ruled out Harvey Norman, Bunnings and Barbecues Galore. Am in WA.

Cheers,

Gemma

In my opinion everyone seems to buy a much bigger bbq than they really need.

Work out your exact and most common usage and see if a 3 or even a really good 2 burner option are for you.

A decent 2 burner will easily supply 6 - 10 people.

Agreed. A smaller BBQ will heat up much more efficiently. We bought our 4 burner from Mitre10 in Adelaide and it's really too big for us. I'm looking to downsize to a 3 burner with a side burner next year.

Can I ask why you've ruled out Bunnings? Granted BBQs Galore is very expensive and haven't looked at Harvey Norman. Take a look at K-Mart, Target and Big-W if you are looking for cheap and cheerful, but remember you generally get what you pay for. Our 2.5 year old cheapy just had the burners replaced since the originals had rusted completely through.

Hi,

Thanks for your replies. Have had a bad review of our local Bunnings for BBQs, so have consequently ruled it out JIC.

A 4 burner is right for us, agreed you can entertain a fair number on less but we will be entertaining large numbers several times a year.

Have checked out the Mitre 10 website, seems decent. Any others?

Cheers,
Gemma

I'm after a bargain bbq too... Kmart have 30% of jackaroo hooded bbq's but of course have nothing left in the smaller ones... Bunnings have jackaroos too but no bloody discount so I'm going to another kmart tomorrow and possibly big w and see what they have = I NEED a bbq but really want a hooded one for less than $200 LOL

Go to Bunnings with the K-Mart ad and ask them to match the price. Sometimes they will.

Got a 4 burner out of Bunnings for $199, plus another $65 for a starter gas bottle. Its more than suitable for our needs. Cooked for 7 people last weekend.

Bunnings did have a 2 burner for $99.
